Linking Tarot to Wellbeing

Imagine you are 10 years old and have just come home from school. You’re excited because it’s the first day at your new school, but also nervous because your best friend from last year isn’t in any of your classes.

When you get home, your mum asks “how was your day?” You shrug and say “fine I guess...

It was fine." She asks if you want to talk about anything that happened during the day or if there is anything on your mind. You shake your head no and go play outside with friends before going to bed early because tomorrow will be another great day!

You can’t run away from your feelings

Feelings can be overwhelming. Your brain is like a computer, and your body acts as the mouse.

When you feel something, your body makes physical changes in order to release chemicals that make you feel happy or sad. Even if those feelings aren't helpful for your life or other people around you, they're still real and valid feelings!

Feelings are not facts though—and it’s important for us not to treat them as such.

Many times we respond emotionally instead of logically because our emotions are strong enough for us to give into them without considering whether or not they're accurate representations of reality (or potential consequences).

This can lead us down negative paths where we're unable to see any other options except those which align with our current state of mind—it's why so many people get stuck in toxic relationships even though they know deep down that things aren't right between them anymore;

Sometimes it's easier just to stay put than go through the challenge of change--even if that means risking everything else including happiness itself!

Understanding your feelings

Understanding your feelings is the first step to managing them. but how do we do that? Tarot can give you a clarity that helps you understand what triggers you and how they impact your life.

Understanding your feelings is different from just knowing what they are.

You can feel angry or sad without understanding the source of those feelings, which is where problems arise. If you do not understand what triggered these emotions in the first place and why they have such a significant impact on your life, there's no way for you to manage them effectively.

Using a tool like tarot may help you simplify what is coming up for you, giving you a direction to create eh change you need.

Journaling

As you seek to understand your own emotions and reactions, creating a tarot journal can be a helpful tool.

We all know journaling provides a record of your feelings;

Tarot can open the door to understanding helping you process what is going on in your life; and if done consistently, it can help you identify patterns in your thinking and behavior.

The simple act of journaling can help us see ourselves more clearly by providing an outlet for emotions that might otherwise go unexpressed.

if the same cards continue to come up it may be a sign that you are repeating unhelpful behaviors, for example.

If we don't communicate feelings verbally or through action (for example, by yelling), they are pushed down deep inside us where they can cause problems later on.

When we draw a card and write our feelings and intuitions down on paper, however, those feelings get expressed in a safe place where they won't hurt anyone else or create conflict between people in the moment— and the tarot can give you a little more information to support your healing journey that helps us reflect on our own experiences more fully later on (or even right away).

Meditation

Meditation is a powerful tool that can help you achieve your goals and stay focused on them. When we are able to become aware of the present moment, our mind becomes quiet. This allows us to focus on what it is that we want to achieve without distractions.

Meditation doesn’t have to be done with complex rituals or positions. You can do simple breathing exercises while sitting in a chair, lying down in bed or even walking through the streets of your neighborhood! All you need is some time alone (or time spent with other people who understand).

The most important part is being still, whether that means sitting quietly or moving around slowly with awareness of each step taken.

Preferably, meditating for 20 minutes per day will produce significant results but even 5 minutes per day will boost creativity and productivity levels significantly!

If finding time seems overwhelming then try using an app such as Calm (Android | iOS), Headspace (Android | iOS) or Insight Timer which has hundreds of guided meditations available for free – including ones specifically designed for writers looking at how their writing process works (and how they can improve!).

Opening positive dialogue

Sometimes, clients have trouble opening up. A good tarot reading can get the conversation started.

“If someone’s understanding of an aspect of their life as it relates to the cards is different than mine, that can create an opportunity for me and my client to talk about how our stories influence each other.”

They may say. “[The death card] doesn’t have to be a negative thing, and we can use that to talk about how life events have affected them, and progress on the path to wellbeing.”

Openness to tarot as a tool can expediate the process. For example, perhaps the person will pull out a tower card next, which symbolizes sudden change.

“It may open the door for you to think about changes that are outside the clients immediate focus that could be the root of the cause. And maybe you weren’t giving yourself permission to think about that before,”

Your mental health is just as important than physical

When we talk about mental health, it’s important to remember that your mental health is just as important as your physical health.

How you treat your body on the inside reflects how you treat yourself and the world around you. The same goes for your mind!

You can always improve how you operate in both spheres by taking care of yourself through small steps like not eating junk food or making sure to get enough sleep every night.
